I hired TRI when I got a notice from the IRS about some back taxes that I owed and they levied my bank account and took what little I had to pay my rent. They were very knowledgeable and willing to help me. I had heard the commercials where other companies promise to settle the debt and I told them that’s what I wanted. Turns out, not everyone qualifies for that program and TRI was able to walk me through a more reasonable solution. I now have a plan in place that I can afford and they got rid of the threat of levying my accounts again. Thanks TRI! I highly recommend them.

Thank God for The Tax Resolution Institute! Peter Stephan came through for me when I really needed help cleaning up a delinquent tax mess with the IRS. The Installment Agreement outcome he and his team at TRI achieved fixed the problem at hand. The amount I have to pay moving forward is much less than I expected. Faced with a scary burden that often kept me up at night, Peter Stephan found an answer that turned a tremendous weight on my shoulders into a reasonable solution.

Excellent excellent excellent I can’t be happier with my results. I lost a lot of sleep from my audit and I couldn’t be happier with my resolution! I would not go anywhere else if I have any other tax issues. If you want the best, you go with the best, words to live by!!!

I am a bankruptcy attorney who specializes in representing middle market businesses and individuals who have financial problems. As such, I frequently have clients who owe taxes to state and federal governments. Many times, the clients have had bank accounts levied. Others who have had liens put on their assets or their business locked up. These are challenging tax problems that require a high level of expertise and an assertive and rapid response.

I have referred many of my clients to Peter Stephan and his team and always do so with confidence. Peter is bright, experienced and most importantly, he gets results. I have seen him get liens removed, levies undone and money returned and most importantly, taxes greatly reduced. In my 30 years of practice, I have not found anyone who is more effective. If you have a tax problem, he’s the guy to call.

I would like to thank Peter, Matthew and the rest of the Tax Resolution Institute team. Needless to say, I was concerned when I came to them with a $612,000 tax issue that my family had created but which fell on my shoulders.

Norman J. Kreisman, the head of TRI’s legal department handled my case extremely professionally and was very comforting when he stopped the IRS from garnishing my wages and levying my bank accounts.

With the help of the principals Peter and Matthew, as well as Norman Uriel and Angela my worries were set aside. They made me feel so calm as there customer service was outstanding.

In addition to keeping the IRS from collecting against me, Norman was able to file a Bankruptcy to eliminate the $612,000 liability, giving me a new start on life.

I would highly recommend TRI if you need a good accountant or have an issue with the IRS. These guys are the best.

Tax resolution institute knows it job really well. Peter and Matt will help you with all you need with providing support during the whole process. I definitely recommend them.

I am a current client of Tax Resolution Institute. Following several personal, business and professional crises, I found myself faced with tax liabilities that were, in a word, insurmountable. A friend recommended Peter Stephan. Peter and his group have been outstanding in their performance to date. Peter and his entire staff — attorneys, accountants and paralegals have proven to be competent, reliable, and responsive. They have been very effective at organizing their efforts, my input and resources in a cost effective manner that I am confident will produce excellent results. They are thorough and have taken a comprehensive approach and strategy in addressing my issues. Their communication with me is always substantive, practical and informative. I look forward to posting a further update after my tax issues are finally and fully resolved.

Thank you Tax Resolution Institute. I recently has Peter Stephan take over the bookkeeping and tax preparation for my business. The transition was effortless. His staff and accountants are so helpful with my monthly bookkeeping. Also his advice has helped me significantly reduce the costs associated with my business. We just filed our corporate taxes and I’m very pleased. Highly recommended.

Peter has been my accountant for a long time and I don’t see myself switching to another accountant! Him and his staff are always helpful with any situation that comes up. They are very responsive when I send out an email and always on top of everything. Susan has helped guide to make sure I set my business properly. It’s a great feeling to know that you are in god hands with the Tax Resolution Institute.

My good friend, who chooses to remain anonymous had a tax issue. The IRS claimed she owed $560,000.00. The previous accountant handling her audit (not a specialist) seemed to have dropped the ball and I recommended Peter who I think is an expert at tax resolution. They ended up settling the bill for $4200.00. That is a significant difference. It is unusual for me to recommend someone for business who has my utmost trust in what he’s doing. And I’m happy for my friend.

measured value and meaning of life that they have given back to me. I’m sure this must sound very dramatic, but after having my business, financial livelihood, and trust in people ripped away in 2005 by two greedy, unscrupulous men, one being my ex husband and the other my best friend and business partner, it felt like my life was over. I was broke, sick, bankrupt, my house foreclosed on, and on top of it, the State Board of Equalization was running after me for $118,000!! Although I had nothing to do with the cooked books, stolen merchandize and money those 2 had gotten away with, I had been the partner who signed whatever my husband had told me to as far as taxes etc went, trusting him entirely. By the time the store closed in 2006, they had basically waltzed away and I was in court constantly, in Sacramento at appeals , and getting ripped off for hundreds of thousands of dollars by snakelike, unethical attorneys who took my money, did nothing, and in some cases would not even return my calls. I lost all hope and by January 2014 was even contemplating suicide. In desperation I got on Yelp and read the great reviews about TRI. I thought to give it one last attempt at getting justice, believing there was none left in this state. I spoke to an angel of a man, Uriel Herrera when I called. I was told they would not take any money from me unless they were sure they could help me get this debaucle under control. With the interest, penalties and liens looming and growing every month that went by, i was terrified! They accessed my situation, made an Offer in Compromise in the amount of $1,760, assured me SBOE would take it ( although I thought it was too good to be true) and to sit tight and wait to hear back. After living in fear for so long, afraid to go to the mailbox, sleepless nights , and no hope of ever having a real life again without looking over my shoulder, I was still pessimistic. Uriel was always there for me whenever I called for reassurance or needed guidance about how to proceed with my life in general while waiting. He was amazing. Well the end of my gory story finally came last week in the form of a letter from SBOE saying they accepted my OIC and my 8 year ordeal was finally over. I can now breath and have a normal life like other people, thanks to this amazing and professional group of concerned people!

Peter & Norman,
My special thanks for the work you all did in making my Post-Hanukkah/Pre-Christmas gift come true.
My Social Security lien was taken off and, in receiving my first Notice of Payment due from the IRS (December 28, 2017), I decided to make it today and did so with a smile. Your staff proved to be very professional and delivered more than what was expected or anticipated.
Let me wish all of you, and the rest of the staff, at SST CPAS, Inc., a wonderful Holiday season.

Ebullient does not begin to describe my mood. Thank you all for your work on this … Looking forward to personally thanking you.

Hi Peter,
I appreciate you taking the time to follow up.
Norman understood my questions completely and answered them thoroughly. As far as I can tell, there aren’t many people out there who understand the subtleties of the rules governing the filing (and more to the point in my case re-filing) of tax liens. I read material from at least 20 tax resolution web sites/blogs/FAQs, etc, and none of them came close to giving me the answers. Norman poured through arcane material in IRS revenue agent manuals and found the answers there, which were instrumental in selecting the best course of action for my situation.
I believe your guys are now working through the process to re-establish my installment payment plan.

Today I received my Certificate of Release of Federal Tax Lien and I am super happy!!!!! This should make my equity home loan hunt a thousand times easier. My sincerest thank you, thank you, thank you a million times for your fantastic service!!!!!!

I wanted to personally thank you for helping me get my business better organized. You not only perform annual tax and accounting services for my corporation and me personally, you also provide me ongoing guidance with regard to tax planning and preparation of my financial statements. Since using your firm, I can see how my business is doing at any given time…this is invaluable.

I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that the State of California has just sent us, not one, but two refund checks. I take this to mean that the issue with them is resolved.
Great job and thanks!

You and your firm achieved more for less in a shorter period of time than I thought possible. You were always reachable and responsive while never being condescending, judgmental or aloof.
When everyone else who promised to help me failed to come through, you gave me the freedom to live my life without the weight of an albatross over my back.”
Thanks again,

I have already discussed it with him and he is confident he can get the tax under $100,000.00
His name is Peter Stephan and he is absolutely a genius in this type of representation.
Peter will keep me in the loop as there are a lot of other issues we are dealing with. I just want to be sure you have the very best representation available and I believe Peter is that person.

Dear Peter – I wanted to tell you that I got a call from Mr. Kreisman a few minutes ago, and he told me he had been on the phone with the IRS for over two hours, and –
THE CASE IS NOW CLOSED! He spoke with an agent and they went back and forth, line by line, and he said it is now deemed uncollectable.

I don’t know how to thank you in a million years. My heart is so full right now. I started crying. I’ve been such a mess all day.

Mr. Stephan – I want you know how WONDERFUL Mr. Kreisman has been. I have been in turmoil not knowing what lies ahead with my health, and certainly financially – well – it’s been a nightmare. I just want you to know how caring and kind Mr. Kreisman has been toward me, and toward my case. His wife is a nurse at Cedars, which is where all my docs are, and so I think his compassion has been even more deeply extended. That he could take this off me, is miraculous. And I am so grateful to him.
You have the most amazing people in your office, Mr. Stephan. In today’s world – that is a gift, and obviously, you draw them to you – another gift which speaks volumes about you.

I am so grateful to all of you. I am praying that things turn in my life and perhaps this is the beginning…

Mr. Stephan, I will email you privately about paying for this time and effort, if we can make arrangements. I’m so very grateful, and as things arise, would like to be able to call upon you again.

I’m praying that something comes of my agent’s work and that my health holds out so that I can actually see things through. More than anything over these last ten years, I’ve wanted my life back. Just to feel like me, again. To have my career, my health, and a peaceful, even , footing, again. I long for this, and I pray that I am on the road, and I’m taking this as a sign. So thank you again…

Sending you all so many blessings.

In gratitude and appreciation –

Good Afternoon Mr. Stephan,
I truly enjoyed your presentation on Wednesday September 15, 2010 for Our Company. Your energetic, enthusiastic, upbeat and positive approach to such serious matters is REFRESHING!!!!!

I hope this Friday afternoon email finds you doing well and being BLESSED!

Dear Peter: I have just received the final official written acceptance letter from the U.S. Treasury Office/IRS for the Offer In Compromise of my delinquent taxes, penalties and interest in an amount of $175,820. This marks the successful conclusion of over 12 months of focused work done by you and your associates in my behalf and I want to thank you for your diligence, your expertise and your skillfulness. The process of filing an Offer in Compromise successfully can be very intimidating, confusing and bewildering to anyone unfamiliar with it. I would strongly recommend that anyone in similar shoes retain the services of a TRI graduate. That would go double for anyone seeking professional training in this area of expertise.

Dear Mr. Stephan,

Thank you for your help. From now on I will only use your firm for all of my tax matters.

It has been a pleasure to watch and learn as you negotiate the complex procedures of the IRS and other taxing authorities.

We were referred to Peter Stephan and Tax Resolution Institute by our CPA. From the outset of our relationship, TRI has been extremely responsive, explaining all of the intricacies of the tax issues we were facing and provided outstanding direction and counsel. TRI helped to take the burden off our shoulders and maintained an open and responsive line of communication with us from start to finish. In a business category that so often lacks integrity, TRI stands for integrity.
